Maghera transmitter has Saorview on UHF channel 48, you could try a manual scan.

Not on Saorview, FTA satellite is your best bet there.

No, that's it for now. More later, but never UK TV.

    http://www.saortv.info/channels/

It's Irish Public Service Broadcasting Multiplex. So inherently it's never going to have UK TV channels or Pay TV. If there ever is a Pay TV on DTT, that will be along side Saorview.

    Clue in the name.

Yes they get BBC etc in Netherlands, but they have to pay for it. Not FTA unless they use a dish and receive Freesat.

Athenry is served by the Loughrea deflector system, which is currently broadcasting BBC2 & UTV(ch4 no longer available from this system since maghera started broadcasting dtt, bbc1 still been broadcast but very bad reception)
If you have a UHF aeriel pointing in the direction of this deflector then you shoud be able to pick up bbc2 & utv.
    Try rescanning in analogue mode......

    bbc1 on c54, bbc2 c51, utv c58
