With petrol so high i think its time to change to a small carvan, help out on my uncles farm alot so im sure i will actually use it so i need something that wont let me down, was looking at ford connects they seem pretty good just not sure how they will be on the road with the high roof but i can see the advantages of them, maybe an opel Combi ? or should i stick 2 something more like a car

Anyone any ideas from personal experience ?

Dad got a Toyota Corolla van, 1.4l diesel D4D engine. Not as much room as say a Berlingo, but great goer altogether. If that didn't have enough room I'd get a Berlingo, some models and years are better than others I'm led to believe, but I'll leave it to others, or the motoring forum to tell ya about that.

I had a toyota corolla car, 06 1.4 d4d. 1000km to 45 litres of diesel. Lots of poke so I can vouch for the van. Great space in the front seats and a pleasure to driive. Unfortunately a lady ran up my arse while she was putting on her make up on the way to work one morning and she wrote it off along with her own car. I bought an auris then in 2008. Currently have 150,000km (100,000 miles) on her and the only paty that I have had to put into it was rear brake pads. Lovely car to drive and the van of them are quite cheap to buy. Wouldn't put 2 cows in a trailer behind it or anything, she'd be a bit light for that, but I expect it to go forever or at least to 350,000 miles :D

Make sure its a tdi, I had an sdi in the past and it was a guzzler. Also check it over well for rust - they're very rust prone.
