It is a bit OTT when you consider that NZ/SA teams play each other 2 already in the Currie Cup/NPC , two fine comps imo. This season the better teams like Crusaders/Wellington and Bulls/Stormers could play each other 5 and possibly 6 times. That's nuts imo. Here's the new format for anyone interested:

    http://www.superxv.com/format/

Who do you fancy super hands? Think Crusaders myself as it was only their youth/inexperience that was holding them back last season. Actually anyone but the Bulls and I'll be happy.

Bollocks. Spent ages making my picks using up all my money and then realised we had to pick subs too.

At least in the ITM the teams aren't exactly the same as the Super teams. But yeah a team like the Sharks could take field against the exact same opposition 5 or 6 times! I presume with the extended competition it's the end of Springboks playing in the Currie Cup though?

hard to say because with it being world cup year you cant even judge teams "on paper".a lot of new zealands all blacks are being rested under the collective bargaining agreement: eg mccaw aint back till round 4.i think the sharks have too much miles on the clock. id go crusaders.

McCaw picked up an injury so he now misses the opening 6 weeks of the competition.

nonu(my captain) victim of the first team yellow card of the season. getting binned for others accrued indiscretions.good rule though ,even though its his own first penalty.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭handsomecake

nonu red card for shoulder charge on cowan. disastrous start for me

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭handsomecake

mitchell sin binned and he is only on the pitch 3 minutes.the refs have been given a mandate to go buck ape with cards by the looks of it

I had Luke Burgess at scrum-half, say if I subbed him now for Valentine, would I get both points or do I only get the points from one of them?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭handsomecake

im 202 points behind the leader after 2 games!

they reward you heavily with points in this as opposed to fantasy premier league.

i see the leader got 98 points for kurtly beale!
    i got -24 for nonu!!!

Brett's lucky the Blues scored off that. He butchered a certain try with his cross kick.

    Great 2nd half. FT CRU 22-BLU 24

The Lions are fighting back admirably against the Bulls. They seem to be able to break at will from all over the field but are struggling to score from 5m out.

only 8 handling errors in blues crusaders match. impressive

Can we just make this thread a Super 15 Superthread?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,048 ✭✭✭jolley123

It seems like you have to wait a day or 2 for them to work out each players points. They must examine the game in detail. On saturday I was rank 20, today I'm rank 9. Andrew Hore had 21 points after the Canes game, now he has 16 points. Very detailed game, the best rugby one I've come across.

We could change the title maybe?

Hurricanes-Crusaders match has been called off with each team awarded 2 points. The Crusaders are also going to have to move stadium as the AMI is unavailable for the rest of the competition.

it was always going to be a hard call on whether this game went ahead or not.

half of me wants the game to go ahead as it might bring some entertainment to those affected and the whole country. also in such hard times sport can be a great stress reliever.

the other half says it shouldn't be played as the emergency services will still be working and the likelihood is that there will still be a curfew in christchurch.

having to move stadium is a huge issue. granted i dont know christchurch inside out but were else could they play?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭sock puppet

Rebels in the lead with 5 minutes to go. And after having only around 30% possession too!

edit: Brumbies back in the lead after a suspicious looking try.

Brumbies dissent! Penalty to the Rebels in the last minute!

    Cipriani gets it!!!

i believe the matches will move to nelson .

i think the crusaders will definitely win the competition now.it will galvanise them.

i know its in poor taste but between nonu's red card last week and this game being called off my fantasy team is in ribbons.i had 8 players to play in that game.

i wonder why they could not postpone it to a later week.

The Brumbies have sacked their head coach. Rumours that the senior players are behind it. It seems like the wrong decision 2 games into the season. It's not like they really have the squad anymore to really challenge for the title.

I have just signed up there. Looking forward to this. I love the Super 15, great rugby to watch. Im a tahs fan and my favourite player is Beale.

Crusaders crush Waratahs 33-18 yippee!!! PP loses again. :D Even without Richie McCaw, Crusaders look to be in good form. Full report here:http://www.espnscrum.com/super-rugby-2011/rugby/story/135688.html

Sonny Bill Williams listed as an outside back? Is that not a little odd?

Doesn't matter I still had him in the team today!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭handsomecake

dan carter was fantastic in defence today. You don't get any change out of running down his channel. He is a proper rugby player in every facet. Didn't miss a kick either

Anybody watching the Lions play? 25-17 up at ht. After two narrow defeats, can they win this one? Strauss playing well and showing for the ball. Has it been a year since they won?
