Also I am taking {Dona daily Glucosamine sulfate as an exray has showed i have ware and tare on the bones leading to osteoarthritis. going to go back to gym to do light cardio exercise on treadmill.

Lift heavy weights to increase bone density. Free weights (barbell, dumbbells) would be more beneficial. And the compound movements are the most beneficial exercise. Light cardio mightn't be the best thing in my opinion, but I'll let other advise on this.

As for what to eat, try and limit all the processed food in your diet - breakfast cereals, breads, cakes, biscuits, sweets, ready made meals, take aways, alcohol etc.

Try and eat more fresh foods - all vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, eggs and plenty of water.

I think the above would be general rules for everyone though.

    My 2c:

No harm to read the stickies here and in the health and fitness thread too - they will give you a general all round basic readings on the matter.

Try to base your diet on whole foods (foods that are ingredients) rather than foods that have an endless list if ingredients.

Exercise wise: Do what you think you will enjoy the most as that is the one you will likely stick to. Variety is great though, try lots of things to see. Might surprise yourself what you gravitate to.
