Means nothing unless they keep the original theme tune.

It just can't be the same, I was maybe a little to young to fully appreciate it but I loved it at the same time.

Reboots of old cartoons are generally fairly lame, but then again this could be the exception...

I watched Thundercats as a kid, and to be honest have done my best to avoid ever watching it again as an adult - I made that mistake with Transformers.

Sometimes, these old, cherished cartoons are best kept in one's memory & in cosy nostalgia. They're never as good as people remember them to be :)

Masters of The Universe and Tenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had good reboots early in the 00s and Extreme Ghostbusters in the 90s was pretty good though it was more a continuation than a reboot. Beast Wars was an excellent reboot of Transformers but it when downhill fast with Beast Machines.

Why are they firing catapults one minute then missiles the next? did they forget they had missiles?
    I hate nonsense.

Because the big ass ****ty CGI robo droids with missile firing capabilities came out of the woods all of a sudden.

Why does Cheetara look like an elf in the new version? She was hotter in the original.

They've changed a few things for the initial scenario. The Thundercats don't start to use "technology" until later in the series.

IGN have just started a series of interviews with the creators on Thursdays:
    http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/117/1175313p1.html

They elaborate on a few of the details such as why the Thundercats are using arrows when the lizard men are using missiles.

New series looks like it'll be a orth a look at least, but it sounds like it will be very different from the original. For a start, Snarf isn't going to be able to speak in this one.

No harm in that really. Wanted to kick him up the hole after about 5 minutes of listening to his snarf snarf.

Probably because the show was written by an advertising committee like most things these days. The elven dollar is huge.

just watched it there and its pretty decent
they changed it a bit but it still has a great look and feel to the original
Cheetara is still one of the hottest cartoon females this side of Jessica Rabbit

meh, Thundercats has nothing on Ulysses 31.

I like it. Has more depth than the original and looks like the ongoing plot will have some meat on it.

Although I think Lion-O needs part of his hair tied off at the back. Snarf, snarf. ;)

Seen the first episode it's like some bizarre mix between lord of the rings and cats.

I guess it's made for children I can't come down to hard on it but it's a fairly bog standard what's popular now show.

Thundercats is back???? Why wasn't I informed of this

Watched the 1st 10 minutes or so , seems interesting enough to at least watch the 4 episodes that are out so I'll get back to it later. I just can't get used to a mute Snarf :D

Panthro and the new thunder tank are pretty cool!

I'm watching my with son (well, that's my excuses, he's only 2 and a half!), and I'm enjoying it. I remember enjoying the 80s cartoon, but find it difficult to stomach watching it now. Will keep an eye on this. I like the art style, and the fact that it is a bit more adult than the original.

And the theme song is the same, though shortened. Most important.

been watching this on Rte (saw it one morning on rtejr) but set it to record the series and i think its a pretty good adaptation!
