    My second walk for 2011:

    I am thinking of:
    Time: 7pm
    Date: Thursday 10th Feb
Start: Grafton St. Entrance of St. Stephens Green.
Direction: Down Grafton Street, on to Suffolk Street, Andrew St, Trinity Street and across to Central Bank.

    Who is welcome?
Everybody! Even if you have a Point & Shoot or a film camera, are an amateur or Pro. Everybody is welcome.
You will need a tripod, if you don't have one then say so here and someone may have a spare for you.

Register your interest here and I will DM you my mobile num nearer the date.
Mention what camera you have and somebody might bring a spare lens for you to try.

If this worked there should be a map of the route below!

Fair Play SinisterDexter. Are you going for 1 photowalk a month?
Yep I'd love to do another evening walk to pick up some more tips using a D5000.
I hope the weather is as mild and pleasant as the last time :)

I'm going to do my best to make this one, I have a spare tripod as well that I can bring. I have no idea what gear I'll bring at this stage, my DSLR is broken atm so I might bring a film camera and some high speed film instead (must remember to get some high speed film before then).

    Thanks for organising Will!

I hope to make it (if it doesn't rain). I have a tripod, D7000 and a few different lenses.

Have only started out recently have picked up a Canon 1000D with the kit lens but am waiting for a 50mm 1.8 should hopefully be here in the next few days.

Was recently out with Lao Lao on my first ramble with my camera and he had mentioned about the photowalks over here and that he wanted to go on the last one and that you should go on one if they pop up again.

Seems like it should be good experience so I should be in for this and could do with borrowing a tripod it anybody has one to spare?

    Hi,

May I join your Photowalk? The Grafton Street one. Thanks. I have a Canon D50.

    Looking forward to taking part.

    Thanks.

Now that I have my new Canon 500d I want to take that bad boy out on the town..............so would love to tag along and get some tips.

Would like to borrow a tripod too if possible??

@FoamCutter Once a month would be do-able. Though you start having problems with the middle light - is it night is it day? - in a few months.

    @WillyWonka is a SB600 a Flash?

@TylerDurden - that tripod is really only for compact point & shoots as shown in the picture. It wouldn't hold the weight of a DSLR.

@EmilyCoCo Everybody is welcome... even serial killers (just keep your urges in check as this is a photowalk not a killing walk) :P

@frag420 I think PixbyJohn has one last one spare.... and it might have your name on it!

    As I said before:
    Everyone is welcome!
I am away offline until next Fri/Sat catch you all then!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,250 ✭✭✭pixbyjohn

frag420, you may have a loan of my last spare tripod for sure.

I'd be up for this. I shoot with a Canon 450d. If anyone has a spare tripod for me I would be most grateful :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 612 ✭✭✭runrabbit

I'd like to come along to this! I'm very much an amateur; I have a Canon 500D with the basic kit lens and that's it - no tripod at the moment. If one is going spare that would be great - otherwise I might try to pick one up at the weekend - can anyone recommend one that's good value and light to carry?

I’ve been practicing a bit and have my free half-day training this weekend so I’m looking forward to picking up some more tips next week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,512 ✭✭✭baby and crumble

Anyone have a nice wide-angle that'll go on a Canon 10D? (not the newer ef-s mount). I only have a 35-80, not quite wide enough, esp with the crop factor...

I can't offer much to anyone else tbh, I only just got round to getting myself a cable release!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,250 ✭✭✭pixbyjohn

These tripods are cheap and cheerful and light. Adequate until you wish to spend a lot more .

Might add a plus 1, trying to get the OH to come! If she doesn't, I'll have a spare cheap tripod. You'd need either a timer or remote release to eliminate the flimsy wobble :P

Thank you kindly, I picked up one in argos today; not this model as it was sold out but only had to splash out a few euros extra! It's light anyway which is great and hopefully it will serve me well while I'm learning!

So I'm all set - I just need the weather and my nerves to hold out :D
