2002 focus auto without ABS ?

Hi, I just checked a 2002 focus automatic LX and abs light was always off on dashboard during engine start. I thought that all focuses including cheaper LX has abs as standard equipment. Am I wrong ? Do you know where is the abs unit under the bonnet to check if light is faulty or switched off intentionally? Thanks

An LX spec Focus of that era wouldnt have had abs unless it was specified new.
