Hi, just wondering has anyone received their grant for this month yet? I rang dcc and they said they are waiting for trinity to send them details for students registered for next term. Because we didn't have to re-register this term I can only assume that trinity are not going to send the details till after jan 31st, thereby delaying payment???

I was wondering that aswell, I thought they may have stopped the payments for some reason? I hope the payments come soon though.

I asked TCD and they said they're waiting till the 31st to send off the details. Said it should arrive first week of Feb. Funny how everyone outside Dublin seems to have received their grant though.

The reason why everyone outside of Dublin got their grant is because they went in to collect the cheque. So I assume by collecting your cheque, you're pretty much just saying that you're continuing and the college can get your fees.

But yeah it's ridiculous having to wait this long for payment. And even if DCC send out the monies in the first week of Feb, it'll still take a few days to clear, so you're most likely looking at the 2nd week...
Which is 4 weeks into term, which is disgraceful...

But I do remember the same thing happening last year, even though you had to re-register, but if memory serves me correctly, it was February before I got my grant.

    *sigh*
I miss the days when you could just go into student records and get your cheque... the whole process was much faster

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like we will just have to wait it out. Be glad of it when it comes though even with 40 yoyo less. Wonder what the amount will be in september for the new term, is it slashed right back for all or just new undergrads?

When you go to pick up your cheque, they make you sign a separate form for registration. That's how some are getting their payments earlier than others.

Pretty certain everyone's will be cut... I've ben getting my grant since 2007 and mine was cut last college year and I get the same amount as everyone else even though I got more back in 2007-9

Last year it was the first week of the study period before exams.

    wat

I'm pretty sure I've just gotten my third installment. Didn't we get two before Christmas?

Am I mistaken, or does it work differently for different students?

I've gotten two, one at the beginning of the year (i.e. mid november....), one at the beginning of Hilary Term and there's another at the beginning of Trinity Term.

Nawh there's three installments in total...

They used to coincide with the three terms which was much better but now there's one at the start of the college year, one in January, and one after Easter sometime... It was after teaching had ended last year...

Depending on whether you get the top up or not you'll get different amounts, but I usually get 450 each semester and then 400 before exams...

EDIT: just checked, it's not 450 it's 417 and then I suppose April's payment will be 380 or something...
