I have my laptop less than 6months and got the norton anti-v with it. Fine, no probs. However, for the past week or so, it insists on doing a full system scan everyday! It seldom did this before, in fact I never noticed because now, the laptop gets quite noisy during this process which can last up to 10/15mins apprx, sometimes even longer. I was away for a couple of weeks and laptop not used. I don't know if that's anything to do with it but it seems excessive now and I never noticed how noisy it was before. Is there a prob with laptop?

Norton is shite. If it were my machine i would completely remove it. And install this. It's free, and better imo. I hate norton with a passion:D

came back to laptop after a couple of hours and that stupid scan happening again so it seems to be repeatedly happening and it makes a funny noiselike the laptop is malfunctioning!
Maybe you're right but it cost me about Eur80 for 12months so bit of a waste to remove before then. As long as my laptop is ok, I'll cope i guess...

Your €80.00 is long gone and even if it had been €800.00 it is the worst possible reason for hanging onto something if it is clearly malfunctioning.

I've done the same with the 2 laptops at home.

Norton is a fooking wearout, never mind about the money there are literally numerous other programs available for free that are miles better....

Norton takes up a lot of space too apparantly slows down your pc/laptop

Its unreal, look at your process tab just to see how much of your cpu's resources it manages to hog
