Ok so Im thinking of visiting a friend whos going to be living in South Korea for the next while around August or September. Im hoping to do a 2-week holiday though so planning to visit somewhere else in the second week.

I was looking at China, but does anybody have any suggestions on the best way to plan it? Im pretty open about where i end up, the cheaper the better! There would be two of us travelling.

cambodia is amazing. just make sure you get all your shots before going.

Its a beautiful country and there's no lack of amazing places to go and see.

Cambodia is more than 3000 km from Korea!

Realistically you're looking at China or Japan, both fantastic countries to visit, China much cheaper. Personally I'd spend the two weeks in Korea and not try to squeeze in too much.

Id pop over to Fiji for the two weeks! Reasonably priced on korea air.

Taiwan is a very popular destination amongst Asian tourist but completely off the radar for most westerners. It's boasts everything from tropical rainforests, golden beaches to impressive mountain ranges and aboriginal tribes. I haven't been yet but it's number one on my list

I'll possibly stay in korea for the two weeks, but considering Ill be staying with a friend who will know the place ill probably be orientated there quick enough to have another week somewhere else.
China and Japan were really the two I was looking at, purely for proximity. I've never been outside of Europe thought and Im finding information a lil tricky to find on the Asian tourism websites etc.

The cheaper option would really be best because I dont care where I end up, I just wanna get the chance to experience somewhwere new!

I don't think Korea is all that interesting, I'd head to Tokyo and get hostel accommodation, you can do it on the cheap if you avoid tourist restaurants etc! China is amazing too but with only a week to acclimatise to the food, culture etc is say you'll get more out of Japan ..
