Just curious about this. Am on a moderate dose of Trileptal for about 5 years and over that time I've had a couple of instances of painful conditions that were far less painful than they had been before I was on the drug (have also been on SSRIs and other antidepressants on and off to compound things further).

Now I know it has an effect on neuropathic pain and in a recent dose of shingles I was very happy to be on it because of this but I'm wondering if it could have an effect on something like pleurisy pain. I've had a few doses of pleurisy since I had pneumonia about a decade ago and recent episodes of it in the past 5 years are far less painful than before. It could just be due to the pleurisy being less severe or something but I'm wondering if the drugs I'm on could be having an effect here.
