I'd love to do something like this. I'm well able to hold my own weight and If I was to take up a new sport, it may as well be one where being short is actually an advantage.

Way too far out for me, though. Does anyone know if there's anything similar on the Northside?

Think I know which place it is :)

Will definitely look into this nwhen my shoulder is better. Did quite well in self progression in Gymnastics (The rings particularly) and always wanted somewhere that had better equipment.

OP: What Public Transport passes by or stops at the place? (Trojan Gymnastics Im imagining it to be?). Comming from Dublin

    Yeah, it's Trojan

Luas Green line goes there, Ballyogan Wood I think the stops called. Also think the 44 bus goes there, from Townsend St in town

Ki Ki It's pay as you go, or you can sign up for a term. The term is for 2 classes for 14 weeks, and works out as less than half the price as one class, so depends how often you wanna head down

You also have to pay an annual membership fee to the irish gymnastics association, think its 20 yoyos

Pace2008 Not sure, Iv been lookin for adult rec clubs for the past 2 years! They're a rarity nowadays

Maybe try www.irishgymnastics.ie and call some clubs?

It's a great class. Im a former gymnast, so I was worried it'd just be a glamorised cardio class, but its far from it. The conditioning is hardcore!

What does it involve? Rings, parallettes, that kinda thing?

    Brilliant, thanks for that!

None of either as of yet, they've just moved to the new location in the last few months, but they're workin on the paralettes already.

Example, for upper body we did rope climbs without usin our legs, then chinups to fatigue on the bars

Then for legs, we alternated between lunge walks and stepups onto 3ft blocks.

Then for abs its lots of v-sits and planks

Nothings set in stone though, we always decide what to do on the night as a group, so its always different :)

They have the floor, bars, beams, track, and vault, so ye can always find somethin to do

Ok so sometimes in life you get a sign and you need to listen to it.

Was just in work today talking to a mate who is big in to break dancing. I was saying that I used to do gymnastics and really wish there was a place to practice as an adult.

JUST out of curiosity I search 'adult gymnastics' in boards and this comes up!

    Insane!!! :D

So does anyone know what the score is? I've not done a back flic / sumi since I was 18 (7 years ago)...but I would love to be able to do it again.

    What level are the classes?

ANY info is appreciated, think I'll check this out next week...

Also what equipment is there? Is there a sprung floor to practice tumbling?

    SOO excited for this!

The free raign adult classes in trojan, are they suitable for a beginner adult who just wants to learn the basics and move from there or is it pretty specific?
I am coming from a martial arts background so i have a decent althletic start but have never done gymnastics before.
If there is anyone actually doing these classes please offer your advice??
