If there's one thing the Aussie's excel at, it's barbeque's, a multitude of soap opera's and the best Masterchef format...

    .. oh, and murderous Stingrays!

    They look harmless enough tbh!

    Oh, and that's 4 things.

So do we just go out and commit a load of crimes to celebrate it?

Which Australians are you referring to? The real Australians? Or the European colonists? Because if it's the former? Well then surely it's a day of national mourning for them to mark their genocide. If it's the latter? Well.......who gives a fcuk.

That they are very, very far away.

I'm going to sing this in celebration.

Every harmless looking Animal, Fish and Insect contains enough poison to send you straight to the morgue

Pull your socks over your boots while camping to stop spiders and snakes sleeping in them at night

Its Republic Day in India. Celebrate that instead

I read that as rubs. In a 'stralian accent, you would rub him.

Nah Bear Grylls would leave his boot unprotected as a method of catching his breakfast or else sleeping in the giant camper van that follows him

With Aussies? Certainly not, I learned from my London days they're best avoided.

Is this like their Paddys Day?

Paddys day is more of a session than Australia day, Australia day (which is right now for them) is a good day for the tennis/ bbq and lots of beer!

    Fosters? :)

Ye be hard pressed to find an Australian drinking fosters... or a bar that serves it for that matter.

    The Fireworks are pretty cool.
Its just another excuse to drink though. Had one in Melbourne and it was cool. Had one in Perth that was cool, but the natives went on a rampage. Was crazy!

When i was in Oz we got dressed up and went out on the town thinking it would be like paddys day over here. There was no one out. They where all off having BBQs while we where walking around a half empty city looking for the crowd like a couple of alcos

I celebrate by sending them a jumbo pack of Vileda, or maybe I'll just mop up a small kitchen spill in sympathy.

    Don't feed him.

Speaking of feeding, an epic BBQ is on the agenda for today. I'll be wearing my best boardies and thongs to go with my Bintang singlet. Obviously a stubby in one hand and a snagger in the other.

Flamin' rippa of a day! Fair dinkum.

It's 30 degrees and I'm sitting by a swimming pool sipping on a cold beer while the barbecue is in full swing. Doesn't get much better.

    Anyway, just wanted to share.
