well im going to start going to the gym soon enough, start on weights and that just looking for a bit of advice.

I'm about 6 foot and probably just underweight at 9'10.I was wondering is it better to start on protein or weight gain of some kind when doing weights?I have a very fast metabolism so was thinking it would help.Realise I'd probably have to increase calorie intake aswell.

Not looking for huge improvements really, just slightly bigger.

when you do start on weights make sure you get a proper routine.1g of protein per lb of body weight is advised so maybe some whey portein if your not getting enough from whole foods.Ya more than likely you will have to increase your calorie intake aswell. Make sure you buy a good weight gainer if you do cos alot of them are just filled with sugar and crap.Me i usually just buy a big bag of oats and mix it in with my shakes

Before you even start on the weights get a trainer or someone who knows what they're doing (preferably a trainer.....that knows what they're doing :p) to go through basic techniques with you! Learn to airsquat, use an empty bar to learn other weighted movement techniques first. It'd be far more benificial then just jumping in & not knowing what you're doing!
Have a look at starting strength Here ( if you can, get the book) & learn the movements involved then give it a go.
Follow the Gallon of milk a day (GOMAD) for your protein intake.
Well thats what I'd be doing if I was starting all over again!!
