Mondeo vs Passat: A little help please!

    Hi folks

I am trading up my car and cannot decide between the following:

    1. New model (07) mondeo, 1.8 TCDI. Has about 60K miles, 6 speed 125 BHP

    2. VW Passat (07), 2.0 TDI. 55K miles, 6 speed 140 BHP

Both of these are 1 owner cars from new and are with franchised garages that are reputable and the net cost after trade in is the same.

I have seen some comments on the threads to stay away from the 2 litre TDI on the Passat and that the 1.9 is more reliable? My wife drives a 2.0 TDI golf and it is one of the smoothest diesel engines I have ever driven.

Ladies and gentlemen, its over to you! Whichever car I buy I will be keeping for the next 4-5 years!

I'd have to take the mondeo provided it enough toys.

A 2 litre Mondeo would be the ideal option if you can find one.
