there's a pretty crap cpu in that laptop and there's no mention of hdmi which is the connection that you need for connection to modern tv's.

this one is much more powerful for about 30 euro more.

the deals on that site seem to be better than what laptops-direct are offering.

if you don't need such a big screen / want a more portable laptop this one is a lot cheaper - 12 inch screen and hdmi.

or here's a modern cpu with hdmi - 15.6 inch screen

delivery in 2 days for £10. I've used them and they are good.

generally yes - both are ok but don't be complicating things! in laptops intel are generally better because their chips are more energy efficient, hence better better battery life. there are loads of intel based laptops out there - just pick one of those... end of!

    Might do for you?
If you're just carrying out normal tasks. eg-surfing and documents or what have you.
    Stay away from gaming though.

Don't forget Bargain Alerts can be great for almost everything!
    Give it a look.

for your needs tbh an atom + ion on windows 7 would do fine for movies, surfing, ms office etc once you don't have any plans on attempting to play modern pc games.
