Hi, does anybody know of any good recruitment agencies to join for seeking temp work?

Hiya, I lost my job just before Christmas and I had an interview with Osborne Recruitment in December. I got some temp work with them earlier this month. I thought they were brilliant to work with. Nice people and I received phone calls and emails keeping me up to date on jobs they hd available or could have coming up. I've interviewed with other agencies before and never heard a peep back. But I find that different people will have different experiences with agencies so maybe I just got lucky! But honestly, from my first phonecall to my last (just got offered a permanent job today elsewhere) they were great. I've also had a fairly good experience with Manpower in the past in regards to keeping you updated and in the loop about jobs.

Thanks for the recommendation. I should ad that I am about to graduate so some of these recruitment companies will probably be off bounds to me as they will look for experienced candidates only. I'm basically looking for any type of paid work I can come summer so hopefully some of these recruitment companies might help. I do have about 6 years of work experience both abroad and home so hopefully that will stand.

Well, if you have 6 years experience at home and abroad then surely you are an experienced candidate! It's always worth while applying as you never know what kind of jobs they'll have going as it will vary from week to week and at different times of year. Businesses will often be looking for a receptionst or a secretary to fill in for a few days but sometimes a business may have a particular project or task going on and they may need a hand with things that don't require much experience such as stuffing envelopes, photocopying, filing and basic stuff like that. I will say, however, that it's been a couple of years since i graduated college and i get a much bette response from agencies now that i have a bit of post-college work experience under my belt than before. But again,it's all in the luck of the draw; when you have an interview with an agent just try your best to have them like you eg don't flog your degree or diploma down their throats; show of your skills, abilities and personality instead.
