    Hi all,

    Hoping someone can help.
I'm wondering if there is a way of finding out online (without going through the bureaucracy that is council phone lines/desks) whether a road is privately owned or owned by the council?

I dont even know if the road in question has an ID number under the national framework, as its a boreen of a main road leading down to the shore.

Its a question of wanting to build on a site there & I'm just wondering if I can find out this information before I start anything.

    Thanks

The land registry would be a good place to start. You should be able to find out of the road goes through one persons land (good odds that it's private). The local council should have information on it as well.
