I am currently trying to sell my car, and am trying to figure out what I have to do when people come to see it and/or buy it. Whats the deal with test driving? I mean I dont have insurance to cover people driving my car, so do I let them test it? Also what sort of ID do I kneed when selling it and when singing the log book etc.

    Any advice is appreciated.

They will almost certainly only have 3rd party cover for driving your car, if they hit anything it's covered, your car is not. Most people will want to take it for a test drive, best thing to do is bring them to a quite area like an industrial estate for the drive, that way the chance of a crash should be minimised. I'd insist on them bringing their cert of insurance if they wish to drive it, otherwise you drive it with them as the passenger, this should be understandable for all potential drivers. I wouldn't care from an ID point of view for the log book if they said their name was Mickey Mouse, once they give me the cash it's Adios :D

Don't hand them the keys until you are sitting in the passenger seat first.

before u will let anybody drive it just ask if they like it and if driving will be fine will they take it
if so, ask for insurance and once they produce any proof just let them drive with u

just make sure u will have the money in the pocket before filling the logbook

Make sure that YOU post off the signed log book - don't trust the buyer to do this ;)
