Repetitve data transfer

my phone ( wildfire) since yesterday has used a full battery...... which is odd as i usually get 2 days out of it. i noticed the data transfer symbol flashing every 10 seconds or so. I have have been recieving facebook chat on the phone . which i have turned off. but still seems to be transfering data. anyway to find out…
