Are gambling debts non justiciable and if so why does anyone pay an online bookie?

Gambling debts are not enforceable because a contract based on chance is void so there is no contract so there is no debt, that's how the law sees it.

Can't speak for the others but Paddy Power online betting is paid for by deducting money from your credit card and lodging it into your PP a/c so you never owe them any money, it's the other way around, they always owe you money - unless your balance is zero of course. This means there's no question of debt collection or of enforcing a debt through the courts, it just doesn't arise.

Yeah they're not entirely thick those fellas - they get the money off you up front.
