Hi All - can anyone please advise on good adult swimming lessons in the south Dublin area? - intermediate / advanced level. I would need either Monday or Wednesday am / pm.
I was looking at the National Aquatic centre that run nightly from 7.30 however toll charges would add up!! If I knew they were good, I'd justify it. Can anyone feedback on what the National Aquatic centre lessons are like?

    Thank you

I did intermediate/advanced lessons there and they got me going. I started when I was able to do bad breaststroke and no frontcrawl.. as the weeks went on more people dropped out, so it hit the point that you basically have an instructor for 2-3 people in the class. If you've some basic technique it may be worth joining a tri club if they have any beginners swim sessions, otherwise the nac lessons are a good way to go... also, if your not a member it works out cheeper to take lessons there than it does to pay into the pool ;)

Glenalbyn Swimming club has adult lessons on Monday nights catering for all levels, 8pm - 9pm. Timetable and more info here.

Thanks Guys. I never knew about Glenalbyn pool being 33 meters so thats great. Lessons start 7th Feb - 8 sessions =85 euro.

National Aquatic center is 10 weeks for 90 euro.

I am looking to improve my technique so question which would be the best! I am coming from Rathgar so both a bit of drive. I swim quite allot and want improve my tri times from last year. I would really enjoy swimming in a group - I have looked in to tri clubs however cant seem to find a swim session for days I have free.

If you are already a good swimmer trying to improve, then you may already have outgrown the Glenalbyn Monday night classes. They do have a masters club/team, but that may not suit your schedule.

In terms of location you could call into swan fitness in rathmines... they have a new pool, and when I saw their initial timetable had a masters swim scheduled for mon/fri mornings. Might be worth checking out?

Would you have a link to details of the NAC lessons by any chance? Can't seem to find it on their website.

If the NAC isn't far enough south for you :), Newpark has a program of one-on-one adult lessons that their teachers do as a sort of "approved nixer" (or did, a year or two back, when I got some). They also have various "normal" swimming lessons, though the kids ones are very hard to get into.

Mespil Swimming Pool (on leeson st.) are starting a new 8 week course on the 23rd Feb for beginners, improvers and advanced. The advanced class will be more of a masters type class involving training for improving stamina and technique and for those who are looking for a challenge
