Gas smell, expert needed urgently

    Right, I have a Glowworm mk2 gas boiler. Before christmas I got an RGI plumber out to service my boiler and disconnect the gas fire.

    We do not use the room the boiler is in but are planning to turn it into a bedroom.

    Anyway, a few days after the service I walk into the bedroom, and as soon as I opended the door the smell of gas hit me. I got a fright, as you do, and called the emergency number (this was on new years eve, the man came and was even here and almost mid-night.... thanks to that man for coming out). He came and turned off the gas, and told me there was no leak. He also check my boiler, and found nothing.

    I called the original plumber to come back, and sort out the smell. He came, checked loads of things and left but never identified the problem. I STILL have the problem... it takes a few hours to build up, maybe 3-4 hours, but the gas smell keeps coming back. Here is what I know (I'm not exactly useless myself);

    1. Bord Gais engineer stated no leak at my gas meter (but there is a fierce smell, even when you walk past the close meter door at the side of the house)

    2. The honeywell gas valve appears to be working correctly, as does the entire heating system while on.

    3. The gas smell builds up more quickly when the heating is off and only the pilot light (constant) is lighting?

    I'm at a complete loss here and need to sort this out asap. I'm looking for one of two things, genuine advise on how to fix or someone who really knows ther way around gas boilers to come and fix it for real?

    Anyone out there know a real expert in the Cork area!
