I'm thinking about setting up a small deli style counter selling some cold and hot food. i am looking at a unit that is currently retail use, would this cover my idea or would i need to try and change the planning permission?

    Thanks,

    Are you aware of HACCP?

It's actually a pretty good system

I dont think you'd need a change of planning permission (depends on type of retail business is in there now I would guess) but the best first step would be to find out who your local Environmental Health Officer would be, give them a shout and have a chat. They should send you in the right direction.

If you are talking takeaway, I think there is a planning issue. The EHO will be able to tell you the requirements re the hygiene, but the planning part of it is not their business.
