Running and Gaining Weight! Help!!!

Hi all. Started the Slimming World plan back in Sept and lost 3 stone by Christmas. My New Years Resolution was to pick up the exercise and speed up weight loss. I still have 3 stone to lose. I had started the couch to 5k program in Sept last year also but had been hit and miss with it. Since the start of Jan I have been running alot more. I have been doing 5 night a week on the threadmill running for 25 mins @ 10km/h, walking for 10 mins x 5 times per wk. After a wk of that I gained 1/2 lb. So I tried drinking more water and switching to road running, but alas gained again! Am I doing something wrong or should I stick to walking. Last year exercise was minimal and I was losing every wk. My food intake has remained the same so I just dont understand it!!! So frustrating!!! Any advice welcome!

Could be putting on muscle? I know a lad who trained for the marathon, didn't lose any weight but had to buy a new ward drobe as what was once fat was now muscle. Take some measurements and body fat percentage and judge it that way.

The reading on the scales is going to wobble a bit depending on a number of factors, including how well hydrated you are, what you've eaten and plain ol' inaccuracy in the scales. Half a pound is probably within the regular margin of error.

Weigh yourself once a week at the same time, under the same conditions. Don't mind the individual readings as much as the overall trend.
