can thermostatic shower/bath tap be installed in an apt ?

Hi all - i live in an apt that uses a positive head pump to pump the hot water. Will a thermostatic bath shower tap work with this configuration ? We just have the normal bath tap at moment but water temp is hard to regulate.

In addition can we change the bathroom sink taps from seperate hot and cold to one single tap ?

It depends. Does the positive head pump run the whole apartment. They usually dont. They usually only run showers.

If the bath shr mxr is connected to the tap and they are both within the same operating guidelines then yes it will work

But as i said a positive head pump usually only runs showers and if its fitted correctly it will have no impact on the taps.

oh and yes you can change a pair of taps for a mono but will usually require a new basin and maybe pipes moved a little

Hi - thanks for the advice. The pump I believe serves the whole apartment as the pump kicks in for the kitchen and bathroom hot taps - does this pose any issues ?

Then its most likely a negative head pump and 1.5 bar. It would help for you to look at the name plate on it for me.

Provided the thermostatic bathshower mixer is less than 1,5 bar it will work fine. Most are but some of the newer square ones might not be,

Thats a shower pump. Most likely connected to your shower and not your taps so if fitted correctly no it wont work
