Have B Licence - Need D Licence

Our business has just bought a ford transit mini bus for doing school runs and we only have one person with a licence to drive it so I need to get a licence to drive it aswell. Whats the story with going from a B up to a D licence? Do you need to get a C licence 1st then D or can you just go straight to D? Also do the likes of Irish School of Motoring doing lessons for mini buses? And whats involved in the actual test?

With a full B licence you can either go for a full C or D licence the D1 will cover you for the mini bus.

First you will need to do a theory test for what ever catagory you wish to get. C and D categories have slightly different theory tests so be sure to apply for the correct one. IMO do the D test instead of the D1 as it will cover you to drive both D and D1. I havent done D or D1 but have done C (and EC) and its very similar to doing a car test.
