Suppose about 3.8 or 4 mph for normal spreading iirc, but youll figure it out fair quick, The Mtx is practically the same as the Case Mx so you should run it at about 1080rpm on the 1000rpm box!

I have a similar tank, 2400gal, speed depends on spread width and desired application rate, anywhere from 2.5 to 4mph., I also spread in 1000 box and let her tick over, Take it easy on the road, its alot of weight

about 370 for sucking and 350 for spreading

Yeah its ok to run it on the 100rpm box,The contractor I work for runs all 4 of the tankers (Major 2600) this way.Easier on diesel anyway! Suppose it would be running at 18-1900rpm on the 540 box!

    Edit:Just checked...540 is 2100rpm on the Mx

running a pump on the 1000rpm box sounds very fast. I find about 1,200 rpm on the tractor @540 is just loads to keep up the pressure for spreading.

The pto is spinning 490rpm at 1080 box. Wouldn't want to be in a hurry, waiting for that to fill at 1200rpm.

I dont know bout the bigger Major tanks but i have done alot of tankin with a 2050 Major tank and i fill it in the 540 box with about 1350 revs and spread in 540 at 1000 to 1100 revs. That is the tractor only just tickin over and loads of pressure for both suckin and pumpin when spreading i find. You will know by the pressure gauge on the tank when spreading anyway if the revs are right. It should be stayin pretty consistent. If droppin give it a little more welly. If raisin too high ease off. Also, is there not a 540 eco box on that tractor? Might be a better option than the 1000 box. Especially if the tank is designed to be driven in 540 box.

I always spread in 540box 540eco means it wouldnt have the revs to pull the load on some of our hills! I run it at 320rpm filling and 290ish spreading the relief valve just goes off if i go much over that. Good tip to work facing into the wind stops the gases at the end going all over the tank indicators, brake/work lights mirrors windows valve handles makes working it alot more comfortable and cleaning it when your done. or if you get the spout blocked with anything from bits of pallets all the way to a cat or hedgehog its alot less messy. A pair of rubber gloves is a must unless you enjoy the smell!
Watch the oiler on the pump keep it dropping so the exhaust has a steady drop coming out to keep the vanes well oiled and check the level before you start only takes a second
Grease the pins on a sprung drawbar well greased. Just bear in mind you might have to jack it up if it was incorrectly drilled.
For dirty water/washings from parlour you could go as slow as you want but at the same time you dont want it running off. For slurry 2.8-4 mph would be my speed but we would put alot of water into tanks to thin them out if you dont the slurry isnt of much benefit just coats grass and bakes on better having it nice and thin and going to the roots rather than the leafy material.
