Bad Luck Streaks

    Hi guys,

I am on a shocking run lately that started 3 weeks ago, yesterday I took Petit Robin and Kalahari King against Master Minded, Petit Robin fell and nearly carried out Kalahari King off the track and endinng any chance of being competitive. I went for Loug Derg and Walkon each way in the hurdle, they wound up 2nd and 3rd after getting chinned by Tigerotoole @ 40/1. My confidence was in tatters so i just stuck €1 ew on Tatenen and he went in( by far my smallest bet of the day.

I decided it was going to change today so I did a big treble, Day of a lifetime, Flat Out and Hurricane Fly, the first went in flat out was travelling strongly and jumping well and clattered the 2nd last and unseated the rider. Then I decided to double Pennys Bill and Hurricane Fly and Pennys Bill was travelling well sitting 4th coming to the 3rd last and got brought down.

What runs have you had and do you keep going or stop backing for a while?

I'd a horrid streak in a log I had on here. Stopped for a while. I go for a few weeks not betting but still picking out horses,if I get a few winners that way start using small stakes again until a few winners start to come in.

What are you on about 'bad streaks'??

You backed a 25/1 and 12/1 shots. They didn't win. Hardly a 'bad streak'?

    I agree with New Approach.
You picked two winners today and one yesterday. Your problem is doing your doubles and trebles. They are very hard to get up.
I can speak from experience - at Cheltenham last year, I had loads of winners backed but had them tied up in doubles like Cappa Bleu, Buena Vista, Big Zeb. But got nothing out of them cause I had them tied up with losers.
    Conclusion: Stick with singles.

OP, would you like me to move this to the gambling forum or would you rather it remain here?

Did you even read my post? So because of the odds of the horse it's not bad luck . My point was they were all travelling well and due to lots of misfortune they did not win.

I only did the trebles on Sunday and I know well about the difficulty the missus is always on to me about doing singles, which for the most part I do. The reason I did the treble is the three of them I thought had big chances and it was worth doing, the only fence Flat Out missed was the one he unseated the rider at. He looked the winner all the way up to that point.

My point was the luck, I am obviously selecting horses good enough to be at the business end but between falling, being brought down and one falling and nearly taking my other horse into another parish is the bad luck.
