With the glut of excessively paid presenting staff at RTE you'd think that one of them could turn up on Sunday morning to present a live show.

Repeats on the national broadcaster are fine at 3am, but on Sunday morning I expect to hear something live and not a reheat of something that was odious enough three days earlier.

It's a penance obviously. A time to reflect on just how awful the 2fm schedule has become. Hey, I've even got a strapline for the station "2FM - utterly missable radio"

Repeats or "best bits" shows of the more popular daily morning programmes are pretty standard on weekend mornings across a number of stations, not just the national broadcasters.

Many people can't tune in live and will listen in to see what they've missed. I would, for example, regularly listen to a particular "best bits" show of a certain local breakfast show as it's on early on Saturday - but I wouldn't if it was on at 3am.
