    hi Guys,
just a question on confidential agreements between myself and any web designer or developer i might use to build a website idea i am starting. are they common, is there a regular template for these or should i go to a solicitor and get one. can they be signed anywhere or a solicitors office, or witnessed?
from those of you in the design and developing industry, what can you advise me on this?

    thanks for any replies!!

    Edd

If it's a big project then it it always wise to get legal advice.

Howeverm it sounds like what you need is a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) so your designer does not disclose any confidential information that you communicate to him or her as part of the designing process. You should have one of these for anybody that you ask to tender for the job. Plenty of templates online.

Secondly, you need to have a contract that secures what the designer is doing as your intellectual property so that he doesn't sell whatever he has designed or coded for you to others.
