My Husband serviced our Firebird oil burner today, but since turning it back on theres a smell of what we assume in oil burning and originally there was smoke coming out of around the flue but that stopped, but the smell is still there, when he looked at it again he could see flame to the front of where it shouldn't be.. It's turned off now and we won't turn it back on until it cools so he can look at the flue or we call someone out to fix it on monday, but thought i'd post here in case there is something else he can do...

Oil boiler servicing is not a DIY job, burner pressure flue analises etc..

There are FAS courses now that it seems anyone can go on and become oil burner service engineers, unemployed and it costs you nothing.

No there is nothing you can do, get an engineer out and don`t light it again.

In a suppliers before! a woman approched me and asked me to service her boiler, gave her the price and arranged a day. Some F***er ran out the door after her and told her he could do it a lot cheaper than me. He is a full time taxi man (I **** you not) Things got slack applied to FAS went on the GID course and "services boilers" when not driving:mad:
