Kirk Douglas was on the run from some man eating savages...

    Bad timing again from Cowen.

    Kirk Douglas is 94.

I've always had a problem with that title. A league is 3miles (4.8km) so 20000 leagues under the sea is approx 96,000km under the sea. The diameter of the earth is approx 13000km so going that deep would send you right through the earth and out the other side 83000km into space.

So yeah anyway, Cowen ... the dastard!

He is also resposible for Pearl Harbour and 9/11.

I was going to vote for him and his party but after ruining this afternoons film, not a chance

He'll probably outlive his son too considering Michael has Katherine Zeta Jones bouncing and down on his pogo-stick every night.

That film being interupted took me straight back to trying to tape a song off the radio, hands ready like a skilled gun slinger to press the stop button and 1 minute before the end off the song the bsatard radio DJ starts chatting

The premise of the story was that they travelled 20,000 leagues whilst on board the Nautilus, not that they were 20,000 leagues deep. I don't think it was made clear in the film but it makes more sense in the book.

Thanks for that. (tho I hope it's not a 'fix' solution :) - like the time someone belatedly pointed out to George Lucas that a parsec was actually a unit of distance rather than time, causing him to make up some fudged explanation about navigation skill  ).

Didn't you know the movie was being shown on the Sci-Fi channel? About 10 minutes after Cowen's speech was over. Perfect timing.
