desire HD phone dies & hangs up on calls

    Have two problems on the desire this has been happening since I got the hpone
    But is happening more & more
    when I amon the phone to someone it would just hang up, this happened 5 times during one call yesterday( it was only a 2-4min call total!)
    I have the phone well away from my cheek.. anyone else experience this?
    I onyl rooted the phone there two days ago, I haven't put any custom roms on or anything..

    Another problem I have is when I seem to take a picture WITH the flash on just as the light goes on the phone will completely die out, I ave to remove the battery to turn it back on.
    Would this be due to rooting it?
    Is it possible to send the phone back for repair, I guess I'd have to re-root the phone?
    does htc have a returns like apple?

    First issue sounds like the proximity sensor problem people used to have. What software version is on the phone and have you updated it at all?

    the sensor seems to be grand though, because when i put my hand over it on a call the screen blackins out no problem I have android version 2.2
    software number 1.32.405.6
