Hey guys, I have a Hp pavilion dv6-3130sa
My problem is that if i'm using my touchpad as a mouse to move the cursor and I'm doing something that requires pressing keys concurrently (i.e. playing a game online) the pressing of the keys stop the cursor whilst in motion which stifles all hope of playing any game.

I've updated the synaptics touchpad driver but to no avail and I can't find an setting to stop this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you got filter keys or sticky keys or one of those useless things turned on?

Can happen when you hold down CTRL or Shift for too long or if you press it too many times.

One of them stops too many buttons being pressed at once.

On some laptops there's a setting that allows you to disable the touchpad while typing. As some people find their hand will touch the touchpad causing the mouse to do crazy things. It's worth checking if you can find the synaptics settings somewhere on the machine.

Unfortunately it is neither of them, I checked the ease of access window and everything is de-selected, I had this problem years ago with an acer one laptop but I forgot how it got remedied, strangely enough I can't really find much information on google either, just a pre-occupation with stopping the accidental brushing of a hand on the pad when typing

Common enough problem with certain notebooks. Unfortunatly the solutions arent too easy, including driver modding etc.

However found this little program before (i think this is the right one, been away from my laptop for awhile so cant check :( ) which will halp ease the symptoms.
Pretty much freezes the touchpad automatically when typing. No lag. Very small utility with negliable RAM usage that can run in background.

I know this post is quite old, but in case someone comes looking for the answer (like I did hehe)...

I managed to solve it by going to the Synaptics config (throuh the icon in the system tray) and deactivating the "Palm-Check Enhanced PCM" option.
