Why do some drivers have their front fog lights on in normal weather conditions?

I'm sure its been mentioned on this before.

Just a pure matter of interest, but why do people do this? Seems like some sort of cult following.

I'd say it's a bit of a 'modern style' to drive with those lights on.

why do they have their rear fog lights on sitting in traffic? :D

    oops

Or whats even worse is when (usually at night), some clown obviously intially hits the wrong fog light button and activates the rear fog light also.

For the same reason that some travel around with only parking lights on, they haven't looked at their manual or switches properly.

in defence of some, I drove my sister in law's Chrysler Grand Voyager last week and the lights are on a rotary switch. First position is off, second parking lights, third normal dipped headlights and fourth foglights. High beams on the stalk as usual. It may be that drivers of such a car turn the dial all the way to the 4th position by default and thus put on the foglights.

    It is very irritating.

    * No "why do people not turn off their fog light" threads - they have been done before. Read THIS instead

I'm going to close this, as the question has been answered. It's for one of two reasons.
    1. People are clueless when it comes to their cars and have no idea they have foglights on.
    2. Some idiots think it's "cool".

    That's it really.
