Tennis Bet with Bet365 - Opinions

Bet £3.65 have a "to reach the final market" on the Oz Open

Nadal is 10/11, Federer is 4/6

I tried back the 2 in a double. Nowhere on the market does it say that it's singles only and as they are both on seperate sides of the draw they can't claim contingent liabilities (can they?). However I can't back the double.

    I sent them the following:

    Hello

I recently visited the market 'to reach the final' in this year´s men's Australian open

I tried to back Rafael Nadal to reach the final in a double with Roger Federer at odds of 10/11 & 4/6 respectively. However my betting slip did not allow this

The market does not contain a caveat along the lines of 'singles only' and since they are both on different sides of the draw it is not a related contingency

Therefore how can I not place a double at the stated odds?

    Regards

I got the following very prompt reply (slightly edited as they mention my name, user name and pin number)

    Dear Mr XXXXXX,

    Thank you for your message.

regard to your query, There is a market for 'Name the Finalists' offering 5/4 on Nadal and Federer to reach the final.

I can also confirm that your security number has been set to XXXX.

Now the single odds coupled add to 3.18, they're offering 2.25

    I replied:

    Hello

    Many thanks for your reply

However the combined odds of both Nadal and Federer reaching the final is almost 2.2/1

As stated earlier, this is not a related contingency, the market does not state singles only and as such I should be able to place a double

The 5/4 offered on a Nadal v Federer final is in no way reflective of the actual price the double should be

So again I ask why can a double not be placed at the odds quoted in the 'to reach the final' market

    Regards

Despite their first response being received within minutes I have not received a 2nd response despite the initial contact being several hours ago.

    Just wonder what people think

    1. Is this sharp practise? Or am I in the wrong wanting such a bet?
    2. Am I right in saying they are not related contingencies?
    3. How can they not lay the double?
    4. They can't claim palpable error (or can they?) as despite the fact I have alerted them to the fact that either their single prices or double prices are wrong (possibly both) they are still available several hours after my initial contact
    5. Is it simply a case of being "knocked back" and as such I can whistle

    Thanks for people's opinions.

    5/4 is crazy odds.

A man would better off putting €50 on each of the two singles than take the 5/4

If the 2 make it at 5/4 a €100 would get back €225

And if the 2 make it at €50 at 10/11 and €50 at 4/6 you get back €178.78

A bit of a difference but you would have the consolation if only 1 made it.

Looking on oddschecker the general price is only 11/10  with 6/4 being the best so win or lose you have got good value with the double .

    Good luck with ur bet.

Independent of the double 10/11 Nadal looks very big.

And you've more "outs" backing them both. Nadal gets there Federer doesn't you win one bet, lose the other and vice versa

Would it be a big shock if neither made it to the final?

lm actually thinking of doing the 2 singles now :D

For an outlay of €100 I would get back either €95.45 or €83.33
€178.78 once at least 1 of them makes it.
