Ok so dont know if this is the right area but here it goes,

So i was pulled over for speeding in august. Was doing 100 in 80 zone. Had the insurance disk but no insurance cert or licence on me so had to produce it to the garda station within the 10 days which i did. I then received the fine notice in the post and i paid it and got the 2 penalty points. Now i am after getting a summons to go to court saying that I did not produce the insurance cert and driving licence. Anyone know how this will go in court or heard of it happening before??? Bit freaked to be honest!

I'd get in touch with the Garda whose name is on the summons and explain it to them.

It will have been written up in the big diary book at the station you produced it in - they will have most likely written there and then in front of you. Just go back to the station you produced it and ask them to check back through the book then get onto the guard who is after you.

I wouldn't worry about it, if you can't find the guard by the time court day comes along, he'll either be there or the chief super (his boss basically) will be there representing him. Tell him your name, the case (i.e. no licence or insurance cert), so him your documentation and he should be happy enough to cancel the case.

Did you not get issued with a receipt when you produced it? I've had to produce mine 2 or 3 times in the last 2 years and have always got a printed receipt with evidence of production.

If it was me, I would go back to the station where you produced and see what they can do for you. Afaik, your details should have been entered onto Pulse (their computer system) when you produced. Next time, though, ask for a receipt! Hope all goes well for you.

I also was given a receipt when I had to produce mine just over a year ago. If you have that then you don't have a problem.
