Anyone have experience of these? From what I remember hearing they aren't great reliability wise... I need something thats going to get me to and from work over tretcherously bad roads, doesn't need to be fancy or anything but something pretty reliable would be required.

    Thanks Guys :)

The first thing that comes to mind is Subaru. What other requirements do you have?

Its for driving on REALLY badly rutted and potholed roads. I dont want it as much for the 4WD, its more about height/road clearance, big soft shock absorbers and heavy duty springs etc. I would be getting it to drive into the road, literally, then just change to a different one (Within reason) when its completelty banjaxed.

What other requirements do you have? For example, how much do you want to spend? How far do you drive? Are you fixated on motor tax? Is crash safety important to you? How about performance? How much space do you need? Auto or manual? There are very few bad cars out there, just cars that meet differing needs/wants. For example, a Subaru Forester will do everything you want and will be better to drive and more reliable than almost anything else, but they're hard on fuel. If you're doing 10k kms pa this doesn't matter, if you're doing 30k then it does.
