Alright Gringo. I am seriously convinced the Argos Eclipses are of inferior quality. Happened to me twice, put the first one down to a bad experience (and sent it back to Unicorn) but then it happened again last year.

OT, was the final score 5-3 or 6-2 the other night. Either way a great win for us.

I am near sure all the boards in Argos are seconds.

Just on that note, I went over and got an eclipse pro and just taking it out of the box noticed it is indeed not of great quality, on most of the black segments there seems to be blotches of a white powerdy substance and the sisal is very soft, dart point nearly going fully into the board

Quality control of unicorn is very poor indeed, so just be careful of buying a board in argos, ask to have a look at it if possible thats what i will be doing next time:mad:

Finished 5-3 in the end Andy, looking forward to the next game up in your shop, yous have a strong side there alright.

Got my current blade 3 board in Argos over 2 years ago and personally I thought it was a brilliant board and could never say a bad word against it and I'm buying another blade 3 this weekend because the blade 4 is seriously overrated.

The eclipse pros in Argos on the other hand must be seconds their such bad quality! I was going to buy 1 over the xmas at a sports store but after such a bad experience with 1 I bought previously at Argos I have little faith in unicorn boards!

Ok , the pub were we play bought numerous Eclipse Pro boards from JJb sports and they were all bad , seconds or not they had the wire pushing out and then lumps and loose hair

Argos boards cant be much worse but we will see

The new argos catalogue is out today and the new Winmau blade 4 board is available at 27.99,very reasonable price I thought.

Played on 1 last night whilst practicing up in the city m8, and we went thru 2 trebles in 3 hrs playing, at that rate u wud get 15 hrs play on this board. The sisal was frand, it was the wires that caused the problem, i wud not put anyone off buying anything they wanted, but i seriously rate the blade 3 higher than the new board.

I actually bought a blade 3 for 19.99 because after seeing the amount of bounce outs on the blade 4 in Lakeside I have serious doubts about it Dicie.

Picked up a Blade 4 today, was going to get the 3 last week but they sold out the last few and Argos are the only place in Galway I've found any Winmau.

I've only recently started playing so can't comment on the Blade 3, but in 2/3 hours play I haven't had a single bounceout.

Only E8 in the difference too even though their instore book states the 4 is E40 (it comes in at E28)

Good to hear that your happy with the new blade 4 board. Reviews have been mixed as regards the new blade 4 board,it seems 50/50 as regards it been a good or bad board.

Ya i saw them all right and wanted the Blade 3 considering it was going to be cheaper too. But Argos sold out when i returned the following week.

But so far it's working out great, i was having a ridicules amount of bounceouts from the Andy Fordham board i got with the surround and sections split after even one session, with 3/4 splits after two weeks play(not sure is there a name for it, but when the wire pushes too far and goes into another number making one side bigger and one smaller).

I used the 4 for over two hours earlier and only fallout I had was from a dart I hit.
