Failing college

Ok so there is officially no hope in hell of me passing my college exams this year. I'm not being pessimistic I know that I haven't done nearly enough to pass. I'm in 2nd year of my degree and I hate it. I've also had some personal issues this year that have resulted in me basically not getting the work done.

Neither I nor my parents have the money for me to repeat the year. I don't enjoy college and would gladly drop out but I have no other skills or qualification and only 6 months experience working in a shop. That's it. Also I dropped out of another course during 1st year so basically my CV is terrible.

I have no idea what I'm going to do. I've just got to keep studying for no but it all feels so pointless. Has anybody any help or advice for me, please? :(

I feel for you, been there done that...
Have no advice, except study, study, study. Try at least, if you fail, at least you have tried.

Why is it pointless? What's you goal? What would have a point?

    Op here

When I said pointless I meant because I only have about a week untill my exams and several assignments are due in, no matter how hard I study there is no hope of me passing. :(

Just try anyway, you will be able to feel much better about yourself if you have tried and failed, than you will having given up. There is also the slight possibility you will pass, and you will have to go for it. It will be much easier looking your parents in their eyes if you know at least you have tried.

From my experience some lecturers are very approachable and you would be amazed at how personable some can be.

If I were in your boots I would....

Go to the Doctor in college, get a physical check up first to see if you are in good physical health, the doc should be free there.

Next get an appointment with the college counsellor and get them to give you the name of the most approachable lecturer you have.

Make a plan with your lecturer to at least get some of the exams out of the way, or assignments.

The worst thing you could do is avoid contact with anyone.

Also, if you keep doing things with out completing them it will damage your confidence.

There is a possibllity you might be depressed or not in your optimium state of health, this would explain your lack of motivation or difficulty you have been having.

Make use of whats there in the college, but please talk to someone, I did and things worked out a lot better.

I know you only have a week to go....but try and talk to a lecturer, they have a lot of life experiece, pick a time when they are not busy.

Everything will work out in the end....and a lot less painful if you ask for help, and follow through.

    Best of luck buddy

    Kbear
