    Hi all,

Test drove a 2007 VW carvan yesterday. Seemed to drive perfect and nothing strange with regards drive/noises etc.

One and only issue though was BIG. On normal braking I could feel the brake pedal "pulsing"/juddering on application of normal braking. It was not just the pedal as my mate in passenger seat could also feel it when i went a little harder.

I also brought it up to about 50mph and slammed on both with ASR on and ASR off. When slamming on I didnt feel the pulsing and car behaved "normal". Noticable difference in control with ASR off..so guess it was working.

Its due its doe this week so I will let it through that and then mechanic inspection by my mechanic. What are possibilities?
    • Warped disc?
    • ABS sensor problem-apparently common in some cars?
    • pipe/leak problem?
    • Contamination of disks
    • Car may have been sitting up for a short time, and would have been out in salt/snow/sand/dirty roads over Xmas
Problem seemed to reduce after slamming on few times but was still there. New I would be getting mechanic to look anyway so didnt bother messing too much.

    😎

Assuming the car wasn't parked up for a while (ie rusty discs).. you could be looking at a warped disc alright..

You're dead right to have a friendly mechanic look at it...

Can also be caused by warped alloys.
If they aint round, they is fcuked.

Could be a cracked disc or broken pad. Although you would see this visually.

I have had something similar in my car for years now. It's an audible clicking sometimes (it's completely intermittant) when you press a little on the brake and you can feel a kind of pulse coming up through the pedal. Kind of like "click... click... click... click"

In an attempt to find out what was going on I had the brake pads and discs checked for warps and could never get to the bottom of it. (They were fine). Strange one - still happens but it doesn't affect the braking. I wonder is yours the same issue?
