Not to my taste but I did a check on the price of diamonds of the calibre in the rings and it looks like the rings are now about as close to the cost price as you will ever get.
 so Guvnor............... you reckon these are a bargain? that is some drop in price

£999.00
WAS £8999.00:eek:

Not sure if they are a bargain.

I priced wholesale diamonds on a single stone of .33 carats.

Someone pointed out that a single .33 carat stone would be a lot more than a mix of much smaller stones for the same weight.

Also house of fraser have these in white gold and they are the same price but no mention of ever having been £9k.

I said elsewhere they don't look £9k BUT it's either a bargain or a cock up on the HOF website deliberate or otherwise.

Nothing says "I love you" like "I got 33% off this ring love." :p

The Diamond price depends on the color and clarity also.

Don't know what that stuff on the HOF Website means, i1 clarity means nothing.

Nothing says i love you like a superficial and overvalued rock clawed from the guts of the earth by slave labour.

Simply put, diamonds are not rare. They are expensive yes, but they exist freely on earth. However, like any other commodity, they do follow the laws of supply and demand. The supply has been artificially constrained so that there is no proliferation of diamonds in the market. Because of this, the prices of diamonds are higher than they would be in a free market.

So why is the cartel put together and led by De Beers stable? One would have thought that according to the laws of game theory, it should have broken apart by a defecting member. There are two reasons for this. First of all, most of the cartel members have major holdings by De Beers themselves. This means that there are even fewer players than it looks. Fewer players makes it less likely that there will be a defection.

Secondly, the real partners of De Beers in the cartel are the Russians. They mine small diamonds from Siberia and channel them through De Beers. The Russians know that if they put their diamonds directly into the market, the prices will drop. And that will be bad for them in the long run.

The Diamond price depends on the color and clarity also.

Don't know what that stuff on the HOF Website means, i1 clarity means nothing.

I would assume they mean:

I1 / P1 Clarity - in simple terms there are 11 clarity grades and this is number 9.

I - in terms of colour is 6 on a scale from 1-10.

Just did another check on the price of a single .33 stone and oops the price minus ring is $225.00 so a lot less for a mix of stones!

I'm off to slate the op on another board. Can some please oblige and slate me on here for being a twat and jumping in too soon etc.
