Remember those good old days when everybody under 25 was on bebo? The craze started in the spring of 2005 and RTEs prime time did a program about it which made it sound like the end of the world.

Ah bebo, i still have an account i think. it got so **** when everyone went to Myspace and bebo tried to compete.

was more of an ATDT on the 9600bps modem text based person on the internet myself but by no means was "1337"
before people were spoiled with graphical interfaces while
surfing the web downloading an A4 colour photo of a woman took 10-20 minutes
and you could only attempt to print it out on a 9pin dot matrix printer which a DB level that
would wake the dead. All the time watching out for how long you had the phone line connected before
the parents shut you off for running up the bill.

Back then there was plain text only, 80 character lines,
and Rot13 for swear words. Information was free, there
was no feckin ads everyplace and very little spam, it was nice back then that the only people online were peeps that
actually knew something about computers at the time and
Nerds ruled the information superhighway

Later days people actually made their own homepages and updated them, before all the days of myspace, bebo, facebook and blogs Baaaahhhh Humbug.

Ah, I tried so hard to be loyal to bebo, was bullied into joining facebook 2 years ago and never looked back! You could never start a thread of comments on bebo, you had to keep going back and forth to other pages to see what people were saying. Can't even remember last time I checked my page - poor bebo!

Bebo represents the Ireland of yesterday, I remember reading about teenagers spending hundreds of euro on model photography just to get cover photos for their Bebo! There was one naked (bits hidden from view) with long thick beads covering her nipples - bloody hell, I would be having a long talk with my daughter if she did that!
