VW Golf TDI fuel economy

    hi,
    just wondering if anyone out there has any opinions of the fuel economy of the 2008 VW Golf 1.9TDI. ive heard one bad review saying that engine is thirsty.
    what do you guys think?

    Depends how and where its being driven really.

    I find my 2006 Passat with the same engine great

    I had a Passat 1.9tdi.. 50mpg easily.

    and a Fabia vRS.. over 65mpg easily - even over 55mpg when driven with some spirit.

    My 07 VW Golf 2L tdi gets about 47MPG motorway driving.
