    Hi,

As the title suggests I am looking at a A6 tomorrow and would like to know anything to look out for outside the normal. (tyre kicking :D). If
interested I will get someone to look at it but would like to know if they
    had any issues.
    :)

What mileage?. Dmf will need to be replaced about 100k also the injectors will fail around this time too and are roughly 800 a pop to replace. 5 series is a knob jockeys car.;)

Watch out for oil pressure lights - the 2L TDI is known for ruining the oil pump.

+1 Does the 2.0 Passat have the same issue. I know the injectors and other stuff are common faults on both Marques.

dual mass fly wheels last to around 140k. injector seals may go in the 2.0tdi and cost 50 euro to replace all 4. uninformed knob jockeys tend to drive lorrys these days too, ;);););););)

100,000 kms on the clock, which is ok for a 2006.

I would be looking for a impeccable service history. Its not high mileage but it could cost you dearly on injectors etc.

Early 2.0 TDIs are known for the cylinder head cracking, there is a tech bulletin from Audi on this,so if you are interested in buying get the chassis number and find a friendly local main dealer employee to run the number and see if the tech bulletin relates to that particular car.

Also a scan with VCDS will show up any hidden faults and verify the mileage is correct.

Dont mind the talk of BMWs sure you could also buy an avensis as an alternative doesn't make it right lol

    Thanks Corkie.
Its been pretty well serviced as it is an ex fleet car. I will examine the service history more tomorrow. a little less enthusiastic about it now with the injectors and DMF issues, does the service history help in reducing the injector problem or do they go anyway, also is a DMF expensive to replace?

Have you a link to the ad as some of the lads here nay know the car as they are in the business. I would be checking the car with Motorcheck.ie to verify the mileage if it is a fleet car.

No ad up yet as it is from a reputable non-audi dealer that a buddy of mine works, I had him tell me if anything of interest arrived in. he did send some pics, he assures me its all above board and they did all servicing themselves.
