iPod Nano Downloading question

Hi I want to download music onto a new Nano. However my parter has an existing iPod. When I try to setup the Nano her music automatically appears on my Nano. Can u suggest ways to overcome this. Also should I have a separate email address to do this Thanks

Seperate Itunes in a seperate user profile
