Oh wise Board posters I am looking for a light portable 11-13" laptop for writing a a thesis on, it needs to have good graphics and sound quality too since I dont have a TV.

Budget goes up to €800 and ive been reading through lots of reviews but cant really make my mind up... I like the look of the Sony Z seies but its out of budget..

I really just want something solid that will last me so advice would be great cheers

It's just over your budget (€811) but it's a good machine.. i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 320Gb HDD and nVidia GeForce 310M graphics.

Also there's a HDMI out, which is handy if you ever decide to invest in a TV

Here ya go, slightly slower processor backed up with a better GPU, a massive 750GB HD and 4Gb RAM. It's also cheaper. Buy this instead of the other one. Nuff said

The OP stated 11-13 inch... that Acer is 15 .. Nuff said haha... oh and yes the Samsung is good.. ordering one next week..
