hey guys i have an m15a4 with a crane stock. i took the butt stock off and replaced it but now i have the battery wire hanging hideously below the tube for the crane stock. there is not enough room to squeeze the wire into the tube without opening the whole gun any ideas to tidy it up. would cutting the tube behind the trigger to allow access weaken it structurally

I don't think you need to cut anything, so hold off on that. You can remove the buttstock tube without opening up the whole gun, there's only a bolt and a retaining plate holding it in. The first step in this video is removing the buttstock tube.

That's a TM M4 which is wired to the front, but the idea is pretty much the same. Only difference is that the retaining plate on yours will have a space to run the wires through.

Any pics? Where does the wire emerge from the receivers?

the problem is when i get that far i get the tube off fine and dandy but the wire comes out below where the tube attaches so when it is on the wire is still hanging there. when the tube is off there is no way of running the wire inside it without taking the gear box housing off. the classic army m15a4 bormally had an m16 style stock with battery inside so thats why i have the problem its not the sportline

Ah, gotcha. It's not that hard of a job to take apart the receivers. You should have got the allen keys you need with the gun. I'd say it's much less hassle to take apart what you have and put it back together than to take a hacksaw to the tube.
