Pressurised Heating System

Hi folks. We have a pressurised system in our house that's zoned upstairs and down. The upstairs rads (barring one) only heat fully whe the downstairs ones are turned off at each individual rad. They all need to be off downstairs. Tried the usual bleeding turning them all off and back on one by one. So I'm thinking that the pressure isn't high enough. There seems to be next to no difference between the gauge reading whether the boiler is no or off, is that unusual? It's about 1.5 bar all the time, it also seems to be gradually losing a little pressure as well but it doesn't seem like the water is being replaced fully if at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I call the plumber in?

Did you try checking the obvious like the pump is running, The Thermostat is set right and is working. M/v Motors , Valves have not been interfered with by Children. What type of system is it Gas or Oil.
Generally if the pressure in the System drops the Boiler wont light.
It sounds like it's one of the above.

Well the boiler is definitely running as we have full heat downstairs, all rads blazing. The hot water tank is full and heating as well. I dunno. I guess it's the plumber then. It's oil btw.

how old is the pump? it sounds like it could need replaced, if not then its maybe a balancing issue.

It was installed when the house was built 6 years ago. They used cheap enough parts so you could well be right.

everythings a matter of trial and error, you could try balancing the system first (cheapest option), but if the system worked ok a month ago, even 6 months ago etc. then obviously the balance should be ok, which would make me believe its more the pump.

pumps can last 5, 10, 15 years - i've seen pumps wearing down in 2 or 3 years so at 6 years I'd not be surprised if it needed changed.

We only moved in 6 months ago but it hasn't worked since we were here. What do you need to do to balance it? Any online guides?
